Code of Conduct

Please exercise good judgment.

Any trainee appearing drunk, hung-over, on drugs, or otherwise unable to perform the activities of the course safely will be refused service, required to leave the premises, and no refund will be issued. Additionally, any trainee that breaks safety rules, is unable or unwilling to comply with range officers’ commands or is unruly or disrespectful will likewise be required to depart the training session and no refund will be issued.

Gear

Gear requirements will be outlined in the course description. Classroom courses may require a pen, notepad, and half-inch binder. Most range courses require minimum gear such as a firearm, ammo, magazines, magazine pouches, gun holster, gun belt, and rifle sling. Ear and eye protection is also required for all range activities. Body armor, helmet, knee and elbow pads are optional in most cases unless noted as a requirement in the course description. It is also recommended to bring back-up gear in case of malfunctions.

Range Attire

All trainees must wear proper range attire for safety reasons such as t-shirts and closed toe shoes.

This means:

-          No sleeveless shirts

-          No open toe shoes

-          No sandals

Pants, long sleeve shirts, and durable tactical clothing and gear is strongly recommended and often required for range training courses.

Sunscreen

It is fine to use sunscreen for the outdoor courses but for safety reasons please ensure they are not oil based. Oily sunscreen can cause your hands to become slick and reduce control of the firearm, it can also drip into your eyes and impact vision.

Ammunition

Tracer or incendiary ammunition is not permitted on any range.

Steel jacketed, multi-core, and/or armor piercing ammunition is not permitted for use on steel targets and any indoor range.

Trainees are responsible for repairs and/or replacement of steel targets if the damage is caused by the use of incorrect ammunition.

Shotguns

Rules for shot guns will vary by range but pump or semi-auto must have a minimum of an 18” barrel.
